The Colorado potato beetle, Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae) was successfully acclimatized after 1998 in Leningrad Region and on neighborhood territories with similar termal conditions. The expansion and development of the pest in this region are limited only by excessive moistening of the soil, causing nearly total elimination of developing pupae and diapausing adults due to physiological suffocation.
