The article discusses the concept of technology for assessing the pest risk of quarantine species based on ecological-geographical analysis and modeling of ecological niches. On the example of a quarantine species - Ipomoea hederacea (L.) Jacq.), The ecological needs of the species were analyzed: the main ecological factors limiting the distribution of the morning glory were identified, and the ecological amplitudes of the species were quantified in relation to each factor limiting its distribution. The result was the creation of a map of the ecological-geographical niche of Ipomoea, using which the ecological risk of the penetration of Ipomoea into the regions of the Russian Federation was assessed.
