There has been described an open surgery training simulator that is a part of the “Virtual Surgeon” hardware-software training complex. The training complex has been created using modern technologies of 3D simulation and computer graphics; it is designed for surgery simulation during systematic training of surgeons to perform laparotomy (open surgery) with small surgical incision at the stages of undergraduate and postgraduate education. The greatest attention is paid to emulation of incision of 3D objects represented by volumetric primitives.
